Who Am I Exactly?

My training philosophy views teaching as a gift. Good teachers are born to it. Bad ones can earn PhDs in education and still be unable to relate or communicate even simple ideas to students. I have been told by gifted academics that I was a born teacher. I can back it up with results, teaching diplomas, certificates and experience. All of my students are still alive.

My training experience has included designing, preparing and delivering training packages:

I have taught engineers, tradespeople, outdoor adventure guides and paying customers, apprentices, people of all ages, and from all social and cultural groups

My experience technical writing starts from being the victim of terribly written technical documentation as a tradesperson, and learning by the mistakes of others, what good technical writing is. I learned the basics by being mentored by more senior tech writers. I have run my own consulting business, have worked as a technical writer, under employed or under paid in some cases, but I have worked, full time (except for a brief period in 2001) as a technical writer since 1998. I have managed documentation projects and life cycled documentation suites. I have experience writing at all levels:

Clients have included corporations, individuals, associations, and small businesses. I have contributed to science books, nature books, technical journals, designed web sites and I also create technical drawings.

I was also brought up with manners, and while I can be blunt, I recognise that manners are never to be deferred by qualifications. And the older you are, and the better educated you are; the better equipped you should be about using them.
